Humanity sees no color, no tribe,no religion, and no riches. You came to this world with nothing and surely will leave with nothing. Love always

About Us

I am pa ousman mbenga I was raised to be kind, respectful and disciplined. After suffering a near death experience in 2004, I suffer from pstd that turn my life upside down but with faith and time, I realize my purpose in this world. As a young boy I was helpful to people and elders, I always give but never expected anything back. My mother used to say, you are too kind and am afraid it will be your weakness, be careful others will take advantage and she was right but that will never change because that is who I am. God is who gives and takes, I am just a servant. A clean heart gives you a clear mind to process, clear eyes to see, then righteousness.

How did it strat

what is the story behind this

In 2018 my late father was diagnosed with prostate cancer and this was the turning point for me, as his eldest son. I had to travel form the uk to Gambia, took my father to Senegal for treatment and back to gambia then uk.

The story of jahanka

Since the independence of the Gambia in 18 Feb 1965, fouladou region had no medical facilities and no health care. The nearest hospital is in Bansang and was built in 1938. Bansang is 11 miles from Janhaka and there is no proper road network. During the rainy season from June to November the roads are not accessible by any form of transport. The community can only access bansang hospital on foot due to this constrn, there have been many instances both the mother and the baby lose their lives trying  to get to the bangsang hospital. There are also instances where pregnant women had to deliver their babies in the bushes as they tried to get to bansang hospital. Also the only form of transportation is a donkey or horse cart and not many people have access to them. We therefore took the initiative to set up a charitable organization with the aim and objectives of providing this community with a desperately needed health facility.

The charity

So in 2018 while my best friend who I call my brother, my cousin (Malick) was having a discussion about my father’s illness and the state of the medical health facilities in Gambia. He told the story of Jahanka village in the Fuladou region. I was shocked and in disbelief, my heart heavy, tears pouring and I asked the question what can we do. He told me his idea of building maternal health one day. I said to him let’s make it happen and there and then we jumped into action.

Once we had this project started we were able to access a lot of Sponsor who have been tremendously generous and helpful in supporting this endeavor. Among this magnificent donors are

My fourth project (Gambia)

My fourth project (Gambia)  While I was in the Gambia in 2023, I had an eye infection and went to the eye clinic at the Royal Victoria hospital where I found out they had vehicle maintenance issues and could not  transport their staff to reach out to the rural areas. I inspected the staff vehicle EFSTH 13, and it was poorly mechanically maintained and wasn’t roadworthy  I took it upon myself to source all the parts intensively and did all the necessary repairs and safety checks.
